The variety of animals may provide subject coverage, but kids looking for predators in action can find more suitable titles, such as Jim Arnosky's Tooth and Claw: The Wild World of Big Predators (Sterling, 2014), Camilla de la Bedoyere's "Animal Attack" series (QEB), and Gareth Stevens's "Animal Attack!" books.
The series profiles American and British women--e.g, Emmaline
Pankhurst (Suffrage) and Betty Friedan (1960s)--who
challenged their era's social norms. Contextualized with period
quotations, the readable volumes cover the suffrage movement, the
fight for civil liberties, sexism in the workplace, and
socioeconomic issues. Scarcely illustrated (more photographs would
be helpful), these are adequate surveys of period activists.

Women's Stories from History titles: Stories of Women's
Suffrage and Stories of Women in the 1960s.
Angela's Royston's simpler Food Chains and Webs (Heinemann, 2014) for the lower ranges of the intended audience, and PowerKids' own 2002 "Library of Food Chains and Food Webs" for the upper, are better alternatives.
The unusual comparison of mammal traits makes this a series worth considering.
Each presentation covers appearance, habitat, skill, and traits for
its subject while also comparing and contrasting the focal animal
with other mammals by text, photos, and charts. Some comparisons
seem natural (similar-looking African elephants and white rhinos);
some surprisingly revealing (both sperm whales and vampire bats use
echolocation); some random, without relevant comparative features
(grizzly bears and titi monkeys). Reading list, websites. Bib.,
