Digger Daisy!

Daisy, backhoe operator and confident leader of her construction crew, springs into ­action when flooding washes out a campground road. Cleanup goes smoothly ­until a bulldozer ­becomes hopelessly stuck in mud. Daisy tries but fails to free it with her ­backhoe. ­Enter another classic digger: a beaver. A creative, ­cooperative solution ­using felled logs saves the day. Yaccarino’s signature ­illustrations pop with bold colors, clean lines, and ­simple, shape-driven forms, ­making this story ­especially ­appealing to ­preschool ­audiences. Will the park ranger be the next star in the lineup? Readers can only hope. ­
