Baby-Toddler–A sweet bilingual board book celebrating the power and warmth of a kiss from a loved one. This lift-the-flap book features characters from the “Canticos” world, including the chickies, Pin Pon, and Coquí. In cheerful pastel hues of pink, purple, and turquoise, the adorable animals praise the besito (little kiss) and its ability to make everything better. Hearts and balloons cover the pages. Readers can count from one to three when they lift the flaps, and the final spread presents all the “Canticos” characters blowing kisses. Though the book is labeled as bilingual, the first two spreads are in English, with no Spanish translation. However, the rest of the pages are both in Spanish and English.
VERDICT Shelve alongside other books in this world and add to displays or story times around Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day---or any other day.
