The Picks:

adventure-time-2015-spoooktacular-1Adventure Time 2015 Spoooktacular #1 – BOOM! Studios celebrates Halloween with a story about Marceline the Vampire Queen. Have you ever wondered what Marceline was like before she became a vampire? This self-contained tale takes place before Marceline was “turned” and tells about her backstory as well as how she became the Vampire Queen she is today. The story is written and illustrated by Hanna K., a storyboard artist for the Adventure Time animated series. There have been glimpses and stories about Marceline’s past both in the comic and cartoon, but this issue goes where no one has dared to go before!

Walt Disney Comics 75thWalt Disney’s Comics And Stories 75th Anniversary Special #1 – IDW celebrates the flagship of the Disney comic line with a king-size issue. Donald, Mickey, Uncle Scrooge, Goofy, Magica, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Big Bad Wolf, and Ludwig Von Drake are all brought out in a selection of stories that represents generations of prized issues. From Donald in 1943 to Scrooge in 1993, and everything in between, this collection also includes the classic Mickey Mouse serial “Ridin’ the Rails” by Paul Murry and reprinted in full for the first time. Fans of Disney old and new will not want to pass up this special issue.
