Viz Media, through their kids imprint Perfect Square, has announced that their Pokemon titles will now be available on multiple eReaders and in eBook stores. Starting on December 17, 2013, four Pokemon titles, Pokemon Adventures, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Adventure!, Pokemon Adventures: Diamond and Pearl/Platinum, and Pokemon Black and White are available in iBooks and Google Play, as well as for the Nook, Kindle, and Kobo tablets. That’s 30 volumes of Pokemon manga! And the best part is that these books are priced at only $3.99-$4.99 each!
This is the first time that the Pokemon titles have been made available digitally. Some titles, like Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Adventure aren’t as easy to come by in stores. As the mother of a messy child, I love the idea of kids books coming out digitally, so I don’t have to find them in odd places around the the house and see how ratted and bent the pages and covers get, and best of all, don’t have to make more space for them! All of the Pokemon titles are rated “A” for all ages, but they are enjoyed by both young and old readers. The Pokemon Adventures series follows the video game story line of Red, Blue, Yellow and Gold, Silver and Crystal. Pokemon diamond and Pearl Adventure follows a boy raised by wild Pokemon who decides to become a Pokemon trainer. Pokemon Adventures Diamond and Pearl/Platinum continues the video game stories of the same name as does Black and White, the most recent game and manga until X and Y which as released just this Fall.
If you’re getting a eReader or tablet for a Pokemon fan for Christmas, birthday, or any occasion, these titles are a great way to fill it up!
