You may be familiar with John Locke's Department of Urban Betterment (DUB)  for being behind the 2012 installation of mini-libraries in New York City telephone booths. Now DUB is at it again with the concept and design of the Inflato Dumpster, giving the phrase "dumpster diving" a whole new meaning. The Inflato Dumpster is a blow-up structure fit inside of, well, a dumpster. The portable structure takes up about two parking spaces, and can serve as a mobile learning laboratory, or even as a temporary branch library. DUB's vision is to make it possible for a learning space to be available in any neighborhood, to serve any demographic, at a low cost. Lightweight materials make transport easy, and the dome material allows natural light to enter the space. One interior wall can be used as a projection screen. This temporary classroom could be used for anything from providing computer training to job seekers to a meeting place for book clubs, community workshops, or as a hackerspace. DUB is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter to move the project into full implementation.
