Sebco Books has announced a new partnership with the LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF) to provide both books and eBooks to Akron, OH, students in the Foundation’s “Wheels for Education” (WFE) program. Hundreds of hardcover books, covering a variety of topics ranging from fiction to history, will be given to WFE students to supplement their after-school learning as they work towards their goal of high school graduation. "To be able to use our resources to support LeBron James’ efforts in his hometown is one of the most exciting things we have done in our 30 years in business,” says Phil Comer, president and CEO of Sebco, in the announcement. “We are honored and humbled to be able to help this great cause in any manner possible.” The books have been strategically selected to fit each student’s reading-level needs and approved by local Akron teachers as tools that aid in the WFE kids’ literacy and learning. The WFE program, which serves as an educational resource for 461 Akron Public School students, was founded in 2011. “For Sebco Books to contribute to the continued education of our kids means the world to us,” says Michele Campbell, executive director of the LeBron James Family Foundation, in the announcement. “To many people, these might just be ordinary books, but to these kids, these books are the keys to their future. They take their commitment to graduating from high school very seriously, and it is these kinds of partnerships that make it possible for us to help them achieve that goal.”
