Update: AASL’s Infographic on Standards and Guidelines Research

Earlier this week, Marcia Mardis, Chair of AASL’s Standards & Guidelines Editorial Board shared an update on their work on our  Standards project.

S&Ginfographic_KQblogOur Standards for the 21st Century Learner debuted in 2007, followed in 2009 by Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Programs, what Marcia calls a cornerstone of many school librarians’ practice.
The current AASL Standards & Guidelines Editorial Board has been actively engaged in research to inform their task of revising and remodeling (not tossing!) our current standards to ensure that we’re working from a playbook for dynamic, exciting learning leadership.The group recently shared the results of that research–the multi-layered survey, the data, and the research process–in the form of an infographic illustrating their high-level findings.S&G_OnlineSurvey_InfographicYou’ll find more information about the standards revision and remodeling process  at Your Voice, Your Standards.
