If you’re planning to attend AASL in Hartford, please add our first-ever Unconference on your agenda.

Our kinda edgy, late-night event will take place in the Capitol Ballroom at the Marriott beginning at 9 PM on Friday night.

The focus is on informal, peer-to-peer learning, PLN building, and sharing–ensuring that voices get heard and that current concerns have a forum.

Because Unconferences or edcamps are highly participative activities, we need your help to make this work.

Before you get to Hartford, please consider adding a slide or two to our culminating Smackdown.  You’ll be called to the microphone to share your best discoveries relating to libraries and teaching and learning.  Share links, experiences, apps, anything for the greater good!

At Hartford, arrive a little early and volunteer to help out.

Plan to get into productive, professional arguments during our Stinks/Rocks session, to be led by EdCamp’s own, Dan Callahan.

Plan to stay till midnight (or a little before) when we hope to distribute fabulous prizes!

suggest a conversation on a sticky note

The unrules for unconferences are simple.

Participate.  Share with passion.  Feel free to leave a conversation if it doesn’t meet your interests or needs. Everyone, even newcomers have a voice. Make friends. Have fun.

Note: for those of you who will not be physically in Hartford, plans are underway to share the experience virtually.

Note: We are so grateful to the leadership of AASL for their support of our Unconference!
