The founders of the organization Afros and Books hosted "Reading my World: Diverse Books for Birth to 8," a packed session at the Rocky Mountain Early Childhood Conference in Denver, CO, last week. Afros and Books launched in 2016. "We are four diverse librarians who create culturally affirming programming for families, uplift #ownvoices books through social media, and provide culturally responsive professional development sessions for librarians and educators," says Damon.
