The National Book Foundation today announced the West Philadelphia Alliance for Children (WePAC) as the winner of the 2019 Innovations in Reading Prize.
A Philly organization formed in response to the shuttering of local school libraries has received the 2019 Innovations in Reading Prize from the National Book Foundation (NBF).
The West Philadelphia Alliance for Children (WePAC), which organizes volunteers to reopen and staff libraries in Philadelphia public schools, was named the winner of the annual $10,000 Prize in an announcement today:
