Roger Langridge’s new series Abigail and the Snowman kicked off on the very last day of 2014, which means you can find the comic in comics shops or on comiXology right now! This series sounds like it has a bit of Jellaby, a bit of Amelia Rules, maybe even a bit of Frosty the Snowman mixed in, and it’s by Roger Langridge, the creator of Snarked, the artist for The Musical Monsters of Turkey Hollow (which made our list of top graphic novels of 2014), and the writer of Thor the Mighty Avenger and the Boom Studios Muppet Show comics of yore. Roger writes a bit about one scene from issue #1 here, and it’s worth following his blog for more insights and updates as well as lots of cool sketches.
Anyway, here’s what you need to know about Abigail and the Snowman: It’s about a nine-year-old girl who has just moved to a new town and is having trouble fitting in. Along comes a yeti who has escaped from a government facility and is being pursued by mysterious Shadow Men, and Abigail has to help him find his way home. It’s a four-issue miniseries that will be collected into a graphic novel.
Enjoy!
