Kiera Parrott, School Library Journal's reviews editor, and Shelley Diaz, senior editor, volunteered on Wednesday, June 10, as part of the Urban Libraries Unite 24-Hour Read-In. The activism event began on June 9 as part of the #InvestinLibraries campaign, which is raising awareness and protesting the recent proposed budget cuts being made to New York City's public libraries.
