Scenes from READERS to EATERS: Read Across the Globe Jacqueline Briggs Martin's Farmer Will Allen and the Growing Table (READERS to EATERS, 2014), illustrated by Eric-Shabazz Larkin, was selected as the book "Read Across the Globe" this year on October 19. The initiative was sponsored by the Points of Light Foundation to raise awareness of literacy issues around the world. The event spanned 17 time zones and 30 countries including Honduras, Ecuador, Romania, Poland, Spain, Rwanda, South Africa, South Korea, Hong Kong and the United States.
