Lynne Rae Perkins is the author/illustrator of six picture books and three novels for older readers. Her picture books Home Lovely and Snow Music were Horn Book Honor Books, and her novel Criss Cross was awarded the 2006 Newbery Medal.
Most recently, she illustrated Seed by Seed, the Legend and Legacy of John “Appleseed” Chapman, a picture book written by Esme Raji Codell. She is currently drawing illustrations for a middle-grade novel of her own.
Lynne Rae lives with her family in a tiny town on the edge of a bay of Lake Michigan, but she likes traveling to other places, too. Like Buenos Aires. Or that town in New York State that has the Jell-O museum.
She is looking forward to being blown away by two really great books. Maybe they’ll be gems she wouldn’t have stumbled across on her own. Bring it on, B.O.B.!
