Have I talked about Sharp-Schu Book Club here yet? (The 100 Scope Notes Research Department says “nope”) If you’ve never checked out this monthly Twitter gathering hosted by teacher Colby Sharp and school librarian John Schumacher, here’s your chance. It’s part book talk, part chat, part author/illustrator Q&A session, and is meeting TWO-NITE. The July Sharp-Schu Book Club is discussing books by a couple of people you may have heard of: Dan Santat and Lisa Yee. Hop on Twitter at 7:00pm Central (8:00pm Eastern) tonight and use the #sharpschu hashtag to join in the fun. Or lurk about in the shadows. Click here for all the information.
THE BLUEPRINT: BUILDING A LIBRARYIf you’re a school librarian, give this to your teachers for a classroom library boost. If you’re a public librarian, give this to your public. The Children’s Book Council (CBC) tag-teamed with the ALSC to make book lists for building a home library. Great books, broken into age levels. Click here to read and share.

CALVIN ON CAMERACalvin & Hobbes – still a big hit in my school libraries (see proof here). Last summer filmmaker Joel Schroeder appealed to the public (via Kickstarter) to help fund a documentary of cartoonist Bill Waterson. Now there’s a trailer for the thing and I’m getting excited to see it. Click here for the film’s website.
