WONDER OF WONDERS

A bunch of talented children’s literature folks recently banded together to create All the Wonders, a site that wants to take readers “beyond the book”. Here’s the deal: they take a book (like Ed Vere’s Max the Brave) and offer up a bunch of stuff to go along with it. There’s a song and video. There’s a craft. There’s a sneak peek of the book. There’s an interview with the author. I’ll be showing this website to students soon. Click here to check it out.

FORTUNATELY, JOHNNY DEPP

It looks like Johnny Depp will star in the film adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Fortunately, The Milk. It’s being pitched as a “live action/animation hybrid”. I like the sound of that. Click here for details.

A BOOK FOR YOUR THOUGHTS

Have you ever seen a used book being sold for one cent online? If you’re like me, you begin to wonder about this sort of thing. Like how it makes any business sense. Newbery Honoree (for The Underneath) Appelt teams up here with McGhee (who you might know best from her co-author role in the Bink & Gollie series) for a story about two sisters, and what happens when one disappears without a trace. I’m excited.
