My TBR stack can be quite overwhelming (I’m sure you understand.) Or maybe I should say ‘stacks.’ Because of course there’s more than one. There’s the stack of recently published novels by favorite authors (Six of Crows, Manners and Mutiny) then there’s the stack of ARCs by favorite authors that probably will skew too old for the collection I manage (Tell the Wind and Fire.) There are the ARCs sent to me by hopeful publishers, the ones I’ve requested, the ones I have electronic copies of… And the occasional adult novel or non-fiction book I’d love to get to someday. Here are a few of the upcoming titles in one of my many stacks:
When Charlie Burger starts middle school, his plan to fly under the radar is spoiled at every turn. It seems that everyone in his life is determined to call attention to him. Add to that his science teacher’s brilliant idea of keeping journals instead of doing labs, and Charlie figures he should just give up on the year. Then, he starts writing superhero stories, and those stories start coming true.

Tuesday McGillycuddy just wants to have a relaxing summer vacation, too bad she needs to save the world. This is a sequel to Finding Serendipity.
In Behind the C
anvas, Caludia Miravista enters the world within paintings to save a new friend who has been trapped in a painting by an evil witch.
Anna Collette’s world has fallen apart at the beginning of eighth grade. Her Mom is in the hospital, her best friend has abandoned her, and she’s living with her father, her new baby sister, and her stepmother. Will she survive eighth grade?

Mongomery Sole doesn’t fit in at her school at all. Thank goodness for her two best friends. Together, the three form the Mystery Club, where they investigate the world of weird and/or unexplained.
Sigh…it’s an embarrassment of riches, really. I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by so much excellent reading material, and that I lucked my way into a profession that requires that I read it. Now I just need a few more bookshelves.
