And if candy is not your thing, Katie also has a host of recommendations of food favorites from children’s books. And do not forget Laura’s gingerbread!

I wish plenty of books for you all as well. I’m bringing Evelyn Anthony’s Davina Graham series (newly reissued on ebook) to the Cape this year, and I just bought Richard City on Fire for his holiday reading. If he doesn’t, I will. But you know how bringing books on vacation goes–you go with good intentions, a full bag of reading, and a well-stocked Kindle and throw it all over for the Barbara Stanwyck biography left by the previous occupants. We’ll see.
