The late Frances Foster, a celebrated children’s editor and publisher of Frances Foster Books, an imprint of Farrar Straus Giroux Books for Young Readers, will be honored at a public memorial service at the New School in New York City this month. Foster, who passed away in June, worked with a variety of YA authors, including Emily Jenkins, Roald Dahl, Louis Sachar, Philip Pullman, and many others. She will be remembered during a 1 pm service September 17 at the New School Auditorium at 66 W. 12th Street. A reception will follow at the Lang Student Center on 55 W. 13th Street from 2 - 3 pm.
