Finally up and running on our library big TV, just in time for the Schneider.

Here goes!

As usual, though, I won’t bother boring you with the long list of “didn’t read” for everything other than the YA stuff! Although this Dragonslayer book sounds delightful.

ROSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(wins the Schneider teen book)

Oh, how exciting! Listen to those cheers! This is wonderful!

Stonewall now… My kids LOVED Better Nate! Totally missed this one (Branded) but will look for it.

Whew!

I would have been heartbroken with no recognition for Two Boys. It’s beautiful and teary.

WOW. We have this but I haven’t read it yet. Now I need to pop it right up the list.

Huh. Fat Angie was not a huge hit among our BFYA readers. I’ll need to look at it again with Stonewall criteria in hand and mind!

CSK now. The intros give me a chance to catch my breath!

Oh, I like the McKissacks work!

Mandela book was probably a given, all things considered: beautiful AND timely!

March! Joy’s in the middle of this one right now. Darius & Twig, which flew a little low under most radars this year, I thought… Haven’t read the Grimes.

And the cheers just broke EVERYTHING! So deserving! Yay Rita Williams-Garcia!

NOW we’re at the stuff that I eat sleep and breathe! YALSA awards!

MAE first — mentally hugging Barbara Moon right now… MARKUS ZUSAK!!!! Cheering with a student right now! And Lynn and Sarah! So many people I know and respect on the various committees this year.

Morris! I met Carrie Mesrobian yesterday, and we bonded over curly hair. Here we go… CHARM & STRANGE! Yay Stephanie Kuehn! I have an ARC of her new one in my bag, happily! And last year’s Morris winner reviewed C&S for the blog — Stephanie Kuehn, want to write a review next year and see if we can make this a pattern?

Nonfiction now. I will not have read the winner for this one, I predict. And… The Nazi Hunters! Joy had her money on Courage, because she thought it was really good.

Heart pounding… this is the moment.

Eleanor & Park! Oh my gosh!

The Kingdom of Little Wounds. I knew it would get recognized.

Maggot Moon! So deserving!

WHAT??? WHAT?

RealCommittee, I believe in you, but I’m not sure WHAT to make of Navigating Early.

Midwinterblood! Now I need to read it AGAIN to see what I was missing.

Onto ALSC awards, which I will watch but not blog. Congrats to the RealCommittee and many thanks for all their hard work! Longer response to come…
