The Winnipeg Public Library system has restored Tintin in America to its shelves after removing the book for review last March, but the library is now shelving it in the adult collection rather than as a children’s book. E-mails from the library released in March show that the youth services librarians had in fact decided to remove the book in 2006, and it was placed in a special research collection, together with another controversial title, Tintin in the Congo. That collection was disbanded in 2013, and Tintin in America was re-ordered in 2014 and restored to library shelves—”in error,” according to a library spokesperson.

I rounded up the June manga releases at the Barnes and Noble blog, and there are a number of good teen titles, including the slice-of-life Non Non Biyori (a bit like Azumanga Daioh but not in 4-panel format), the super-shoujo manga So Cute It Hurts, and a new volume of Wandering Son.

The Chicago Tribune has a nice article on the recent changes at DC, which include bringing in more female and gay lead characters and introducing several titles that are geared for teens and pre-teens.
