It’s the end of the year, time for the end-of-the-year lists! We posted our picks for the top ten graphic novels of 2015 at SLJ, and YALSA recently updated their nominations for this year’s Great Graphic Novels for Teens list.

Random House will launch a series of My First Comics board books in January, and the first four are by Babymouse creators Jennifer L. Holm and Matthew Holm.

As an Orthodox Jewish man, Menachim Luchins felt he never saw himself represented in comics—until he read Ms. Marvel:

Kamala and teen-me have a lot more in common than I ever did with any Jewish character Marvel or DC ever had. I too, had an older brother whose religious devotion and zeal created distance between us, and I too sat and listened to religious leaders with whom I did not quite know how to relate. The conversation she eventually has with her imam is almost verbatim the kind the imaginary conversations with my rabbi I practiced for when I would (finally) get my powers.

Alysa Stewart geeks out over Secret Coders, Gene Luen Yang’s comic that uses strange birds to teach kids how to code.

J.L. Bell compares and contrasts the different G-Man comics and the new diary-style novel.

Top Shelf is planning a deluxe hardcover edition of March: Book One early next year.
