On Wednesday, July 11 through Sunday, July 15, while attending the Comic-Con International 2012 in San Diego, I ran around to as many of my favorite kids comics creators as I could and asked them all the exact same questions. Keep in mind, comic book conventions are crazy loud and crazy busy, so there is a lot of background noise. Let me know in the comments if you have trouble hearing anything and I’ll translate for you.

At SDCC, the BOOM! Studios booth is awesome. They gather together as many of their artists as they can, set them all up in a row, and have them do sketches for their adoring fans. Granted, their lists fill up really fast, so if you want an actual sketch you have to get up pretty early in the morning. But if your goal is to have a chance to talk to/gush at your favorite artist, your wish could be granted pretty quickly. So, when I saw a space open up around Roger Langridge, I jumped in and started gushing. It took a few minutes for me to wind down enough to ask my five questions, but Mr. Langridge was very sweet the entire time I was embarrassing myself. Which is why I love him.

Adventure Time series, by various Confession time: As you can tell, the noise level at the con was particularly bad at the time we were filming this interview and I can’t for the life of me figure out which book Roger says is his desert island book. All I can make out is that it was released by Fantagraphics and it’s big enough for Roger to float home on. If you know which book he’s talking about, please let me know in the comments and I’ll add the appropriate link.
