On Wednesday, July 11 through Sunday, July 15, while attending the Comic-Con International 2012 in San Diego, I ran around to as many of my favorite kids comics creators as I could and asked them all the exact same questions. Keep in mind, comic book conventions are crazy loud and crazy busy, so there is a lot of background noise. I love when a webcomic becomes a thing. Nemu*nemu has a wonderfully loyal following and the audience includes everyone from tweens on up. The story is fun (and adorable), the art is clearly influenced by the manga Audra loves (and adorable), and the plushies of the two main characters are absolutely adorable! I had a great time talking with Audra and Scott, not just because they are lovely people, but because Audra’s love of manga is deep and her knowledge is much broader than mine, so she can always recommend something new for me to read.
