Inaugural Epic Reading Challenge to Coincide with Read Across America

Educators looking for a last-minute Read Across America assignment may want to consider this "ice cream for ebooks" challenge.
epic1 To coincide with National Read Across America Day, coming up on March 2, Epic! is launching its first Epic Reading Challenge. It starts on Monday, February 29, continuing through Friday, March 4. Elementary school classes across the U.S. and Canada, who, as a group, read 50 or more books that week on Epic! will earn a special Epic! Reading Certificate suitable for framing in their classrooms; the top 10 classes will each win an ice cream party as well. The company’s goal is to have at least 1,000,000 books read next week. A online leaderboard will be continuously updated throughout the week to show which classes are at the front of the pack. Epic! provides thousands of books free for teachers through its Epic! for Educators Program.  Epic! for Educators is free for all verified elementary school teachers and librarians in the U.S. and Canada.
