It’s also a good bet when IMDB doesn’t work for you–a more searchy than browsey approach. My search on politics and “cold war” retrieved some excellent suggestions.

Valossa Labs Oy is a new Finnish startup that includes a development team of Ph.Ds and graduate students from Finland’s University of Oulu. They share that the Val.ai advanced video analysis platform is powered by the visual search engine Valossa Deep Search.
According to the About page, the AI platform
understands the deep content data of videos and provides novel solutions for discovery, content production and contextual advertising.
Valossa’s technology is capable of analyzing video streams in real-time to identify more than one thousand concepts (e.g. places and objects) from any video stream. This enables automated scene descriptive metadata creation for content production, real-time video content discovery applications and contextual advertising.
And so Valossa Deep Search can process far more complicated tasks than my cold war search.

- scifi movies about space battles and laser guns
- Eastwood protecting the president
- comedy in Hawaii
- nonviolent princess movies
- romantic comedy movies involving career issues and family
