I am endlessly fascinated by the books that end up on the holds shelf of our school library. Some are expected. Some are seemingly out of left field. I’m going to play-by-play this Vine of our most recent shelf while repeatedly listening to Lose Yourself to Dance on my headphones.
Whoa – a little Beatrix Potter to kick things off! Way to throw us all for a loop! No doubt this student saw the recent news about the lost Beatrix Potter story that will soon be published and wanted to celebrate BP’s entire catalog.
Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales! Who knew a guy trying to talk his way out of getting hanged could be such fun?? This series gets a lot of love in my school. This series gets a lot of love from me. Here’s to the beautiful merging of nonfiction and graphic novels.
Minecraft keeps on chugging. I refer to this as “The brownish one.”
Smile. Were I the commissioner of children’s literature (wait.), I would make every book creator stop whatever project they are working on right now and make a graphic novel memoir. Firstly, because I think everyone could work through some personal/family psychological stuff and come out the other side a happier person. Secondly, because graphic novel memoirs are great and kids love them.
Ballet Cat hits the hold shelf mere days before the next installment comes out. Coincidence?
I know what you’re wondering about this book, so I’ll go ahead and tell you: the metallic pull-out jacket in Robo-Sauce is holding up surprisingly well! I was not sure how it would fare once it began to circulate, but so far, so good after about 8 checkouts or so.
Guiness! The latest and greatest in World Recordry is always in demand.
