The Picks:

Olympians Volume 7 Ares The Bringer Of War – First Second goes to war with the Olympian Ares. The seventh volume of this series focuses on Ares, the god of war, at the end of the fabled Trojan War. While the humans tried to end their ten-year-long battle over a woman, the gods are fighting their own battles—especially Athena and Ares, the two warrior gods whose battle strategies are as different as day and night. This is another strong entry in an already great series. The perspective on the Trojan war is different from what is usually shown, and Ares is a more interesting character than you might think. Powerpuff Girls Super Smash-Up #1 – IDW keeps the Cartoon Network Crossover Craziness going. With the Super Secret Crisis War over, the Powerpuff Girls relax with a rare VIP tour of Dexter’s Laboratory. Dee Dee, up to her usual antics, accidentally activates Dexter’s newest invention, and the fate of the entire multiverse is suddenly at stake! Then Courage the Cowardly Dog gets a bonus story by Jeremy Whitley, creator of the Glyph- and Eisner-nominated Princeless. In the vein of great team-ups such as Batman: Brave and the Bold and Scooby-Doo, the Powerpuff Girls are teaming up with more of your favorite Cartoon Network characters, including some that weren’t in the Super Secret Crisis War. Fans of PPG and CN will want to scoop this issue up!
