Here it is: Our exclusive first look at the cover of George O’Connor’s Apollo, which will be the eighth book in his Olympians series. Here’s the description of the series:

In OLYMPIANS, O’Connor draws from primary documents to reconstruct and retell classic Greek myths. But these stories aren’t sedate, scholarly works. They’re action-packed, fast-paced, high-drama fantasy adventures, with monsters, romance, and not a few huge explosions. O’Connor’s vibrant, kinetic art brings ancient tales to undeniable life, in a perfect fusion of super-hero aesthetics and ancient Greek mythology.

I grew up being force-fed stodgy versions of Greek and Roman myths, so I wasn’t too excited about this series, but O’Connor has made me a convert. His Greek gods feel like real people, and his depictions of some of the more abstract concepts are strikingly original.

Here are some of our previous Olympians stories:

Esther’s interview with O’Connor from before the series launched
Book Club discussion of Zeus: King of the Gods
Esther’s review of Hera: The Goddess and Her Glory
Lori’s review of Poseidon: Earth Shaker
