School Library Journal threw a nice party for retiring Book Review Editor Trevelyn T. Jones in the Louis L’Amour room at Random House on Tuesday night. It was so great to see Trev, who has been indefatigable for the past thirty years–I first worked with her when I was  a reviewer for SLJ in the 1980s, and then again when Media Source bought SLJ a few years ago. In the 80s we would commiserate over whiny YA novels; in more recent years we would complain about long whiny YA novels as well as our ever-obstreperous shared database. Now she gets to leave ALL that behind and, as SLJ’s new Editor at Large, do what she wants. Best wishes, Trev!
