Here's a round-up of scholarships, grants, and prizes available to teachers, librarians, and students.
Ezra Jack Keats Mini-Grants Roughly 60 grants of up to $500 each will be awarded to teachers and librarians at public schools and libraries across the country who submit “if only” ideas (innovative programs they’d love to implement if only they had the budget).

Red Nose Challenge The Challenge inspires students in grades 3–8 to submit a creative video explaining how they plan to make a difference for children living in poverty. Winning entries will receive $5,000 to implement their plan of action and other prizes. To enter, students must create a one to two-minute video sharing their idea, as well as one statistic or fact on the issue, and why everyone should care. A student (or team of up to four students) must register through an adult team leader.

Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes The Barron Prize honors 25 outstanding young leaders ages 8 to 18 who have made a significant positive impact on people, their communities, or the environment. The 15 winners each receive $5,000 to support their service work or higher education.

Sara Jaffarian School Library Program Award School libraries are invited to apply for a $5,000 award recognizing outstanding humanities programming in kindergarten through eighth grade. Programs may be focused in subject areas including social studies, poetry, drama, art, music, language arts, foreign language, and culture.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Young Scholars Program Outstanding seventh grade students in public or private schools with financial need will be selected to participate in the program from eighth grade through high school graduation. They will receive: comprehensive counseling to achieve academic and talent goals, summer learning experiences, and support for educational expenses.
