Each year many of us look forward to the annual reveal of the AASL Best Websites and Best Apps at ALA Annual Conference.

In case you missed those big reveals a couple of week ago, no worries!  (Rather, worry. For you are in for a serious rabbit hole experience.)

Summer is here and you will be able to squeeze in at least a few explorations of some new tools to bring back to school from among both of the committee’s selections.

There were so many goodies and you can enjoy them in a variety of publication platforms.

Visit the official Best Websites for Teaching and Learning list for full description of the Committee’s picks that foster the qualities of innovation, creativity, active participation, and collaboration.  The selected sites are free, user friendly and encourage a community of learners to explore and discover.

The Committee selected 25 sites in the categories of:

We selected 25 apps in the following categories:

• Organization & Management

I pulled together an interactive Piktochart Infographic of the 2016 AASL 25 Best Apps which includes the Committee’s video descriptions of each app in the five categories, as well as a Best Apps 2016 Symbaloo.

 And finally, this year, we followed up our big reveal with a discussion of the things that keep us app at night, issues beyond the affection we feel for individual apps, relating to their use of mobile apps in learning culture.  Check out the issues slides following the slides describing of a few of our faves, in this in Best Apps Slidedeck.
