The nominations for the Eisner Award, the most prestigious award in comics, were announced today. The nominees were selected by a panel of six judges, and the final awards will be voted on by professionals in the comics field. Here’s the list for the kids’ and YA categories:

March: Book Two got two other nominations. Nathan Hale got a second nomination for Best Writer/Artist, and G. Willow Wilson, creator of Ms. Marvel, was nominated in the Best Writer category.

Three of the books on the Eisner list, Awkward, Sunny Side Up, and Baba Yaga’s Assistant, were on our list of the top ten graphic novels of 2015. And some of our top ten picks were recognized in other categories: The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl for Best New Series, Nimona for Best Graphic Album—Reprint, and We Dig Worms for Best Lettering.
