To combat summer learning loss, educators and parents can currently register for TenMarks Summer Math Program, an Amazon-owned company, to combat math summer learning loss—and it's free. The program starts May 19 and is targeted for students ranging from grades 1 math to Geometry/Algebra 2. "An hour a week is all it takes for students to reverse summer learning loss, strengthen their math skills, and prepare for the year ahead," states the TenMarks teacher flyer. Students who participate will be asked to take an assessment test conducted at the beginning of the program (which starts May 19) that will personalize his or her curriculum. Students who participated in last year's summer math program showed an average 11 percent increase in scores from grade level assessments conducted at the beginning of the program. Teacher support is not required, however educators can explore the curriculum online, as well as read and download the program's brochures to share with parents and caregivers. Also, parents can register for the program directly. For those interested in learning more about the TenMarks Summer Math Program, visit the official website.
