I am honored and kinda thrilled to be a member of AASL’s Best Apps for Teaching and Learning Committee.
This particular best list is now three years old and recognizes apps
of exceptional value to inquiry-based teaching and learning as embodied in the AASL’s Standards for the 21st-Century Learner. The apps foster the qualities of innovation, creativity, active participation, and collaboration and are user friendly to encourage a community of learners to explore and discover.
Apps are selected in the following categories. (These examples are from the 2o14 list):
Books Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Organization & Management Social Sciences Content Creation
Our goal is to develop a vetted list of 25 apps tied to AASL Standards for the 21st-Century Learner. We understand that our list improves with more involvement from our colleagues on the ground.
So, please consider the apps you, your teachers and your learners cannot live without and nominate your favorites for the 2015 AASL’s Best Apps for Teaching and Learning list by completing this nomination form.
Nominations are accepted on an ongoing basis, but, to be considered for the list at ALA Annual, we must receive your submissions by March 1.
