The Culinary Arts Math@Work webisode premieres on April 29 1 pm ET and 10 am PT./Scholastic

Registration is open for the second webcast in Scholastic's Math@Work series that ties classroom math to career aspirations—and what better way to tie in math than through cooking? In the 30-minute Math@Work webisode, former Top Chef contestant and ABC's The Chew's Carla Hall—along with the newest Top Chef winner Nicholas Elmi—are teaming up to show kids the connections between math and the culinary arts—all with the goal of getting more students interested in math and math-related careers. In this April 29 webisode, Carla challenges three high school students from Manhattan's Food and Finance High School to create healthy dishes that can easily be served in school cafeterias across the country. Along the way, the students solve math problems and discover the links between what they learn at school and the careers they aspire to.
