This live webcast takes place on Wednesday, October 30th at 3:00PM ET / Noon PT. We’ll delve into Upstart’s early literacy story time curriculum “The Very Ready Reading Program,” created by early learning gurus Sue McCleaf-Nespeca and Dr. Pam Schiller. We’ll also get a preview of Free Spirit Publishing’s board book and picture book offerings for little ones, as well as their upcoming title A Moving Child Is a Learning Child: How the Body Teaches the Brain to Think by Gill Connell and Cheryl McCarthy. Panelists Marjorie Lisovskis - Editorial Director, Free Spirit Publishing Marjorie Lisovskis has been writing and editing children’s books for more than 30 years. As the editorial director at Free Spirit Publishing, she has championed and worked closely on the development of award-winning picture book lines including the Best Behavior® and Learning to Get Along® series. She is the coauthor (with Elizabeth Verdick) of the Happy Healthy Baby™ board books and How to Take the Grrrr Out of Anger, and has a special interest in creating books that help young children see themselves as confident, capable, and loved. A mother and grandmother, she lives with her husband in Minneapolis. Matt Mulder  - Director of Education, Demco Matt Mulder is the Director of Education Markets at Demco. For the past 15 years, he has been developing reading and literacy programs for school and public libraries, including extensive work with the Collaborative Summer Library Program. Matt has focused the efforts of Upstart Publishing and LibrarySparks magazine on providing librarians with accessible, ready-to-use materials that address critical literacy, research, and library skills. Moderator Rachel Payne - Coordinator, Early Childhood Services, Brooklyn Public Library Rachel Payne is the coordinator of early childhood services at Brooklyn Public Library and a co-author of Ready with Babies, Toddlers and Twos (Sourcebooks, 2013).
