The ongoing impact of Common Core State Standards and the growing Maker movement are requiring children's librarians to rethink their nonfiction collections to meet children and teenagers’ 21st Century needs. Truly compelling nonfiction can have a profound impact on young readers, from helping develop personal interests to supporting academic research.

This free SLJ webcast, moderated by the library director of Bard H.S.
