Día de los Muertos | Picture of the Week

Check out this amazing Day of the Dead book display in Mexico City.

Día de los Muertos is celebrated on November 1 and 2. A holiday to honor the dead, families create offerings to honor family members who have died. SLJ contributor and former editor Daryl Grabarek sent this photo of a Day of the Dead Book Display at Centro Cultural Elena Garro in Mexico City. Garro was a novelist, journalist, and screenwriter, and the wife of poet and Nobel Prize winner Octavio Paz. The center contains a "spectacular bookstore" of kids & adult books, as well as meeting and performance areas, according to Grabarek.
