This month's booktalk is about a debut high fantasy-adventure with all the drama and high stakes of "Game of Thrones" (minus the gratuitous violence and nudity that make the George R.R. Martin series a poor choice for middle graders, of course!). Ideal for tweens looking for something akin to Rick Riordan's adventurous protagonists and Angie Sage's magical world-building, this series starter is, as our reviewer said, "hard to put down."
