In the last few weeks, John Lewis has garnered much media attention for his boycott of the 2017 Presidential inauguration. But today, Lewis is in the news for the multiple awards for the third volume in the March trilogy.

March 3This morning, in Atlanta, Georgia the 2017 ALA Youth Media awards were announced the ALA YMA and March V. 97814521234313 by John Lewis, Andrew Aiden and illustrated by Nate Powell picked up the following awards:

Michael L. Printz Award
Robert F. Sibert Information Book Medal
Yalsa Excellence in Nonfiction Award
Coretta Scott King Book Award

In addition, Lowriders to the Center of the Earth was awarded the Belpre 2017 Illustrator Award and Leave Me Alone! by Vera Brosgol was awarded a Caldecott Honor.
