Today we are all arriving in Chicago for the ALA Midwinter Meeting, soon to listen in to the Notable Book discussions, browse the exhibits for next year’s contenders, and await the announcement of the awards on Monday morning.  We will wrap up our discussion on that final post next week, and then go into hibernation until next September.  But that won’t be the end of award appreciation season:

Can you tell the entire plot of a Newbery book in 90 seconds or less?  These kids can. Don’t miss the fourth-annual screening series of the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival when it touches down in your city, February-March. The SLJ’s Battle of the Kids Books (BOB) Contenders have been announced!  Make sure to head over there for some real action between many of your favorites through the month of March.   They are already taking your comments.
