This wannabe Warner Cartoon/MAD magazine mash-up is better suited for older teens who enjoy the animated series. For younger readers ready to move on from “Captain Underpants” and “Dogman,” offer them Frank Cammuso’s “Knights of the Lunch Table,” Ben Hatke’s “Mighty Jack” and “Zita the Spacegirl,” Jimmy Gownley’s The Dumbest Idea Ever, or Jennifer L. Holm’s “Sunny” series.
An intriguing universe that cries out for further development. Unfortunately, because the plot is dense and covers so much ground in so few pages, it’s difficult to recommend to any but the most dedicated science fiction fans.
Fans of Strohm’s previous novels (Love a La Mode, Prince in Disguise) and graphic novels such as Alice Oseman’s “Heartstopper” series will enjoy this title. A sound choice for any library with a strong graphic novel readership.

This graphic novel about a witchy school will resonate with fans of spooky season and is a great story about the power of friendship helping to solve a mystery. A wonderful addition to Halloween collections that will continue to be checked out long after the season is over.
