Library Journal and School Library Journal are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting our annual, in-person Public Library Youth Services Leadership Summit on May 29 (full-day) and 30 (half-day) at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library in Plainview, NY.  We invite you to join current and aspiring youth services innovators and other public library leaders from across the country to delve into the important and impactful work shaping library services. Learn about cutting-edge, effective, and actionable best practices; gain inspiration for your own leadership path; and explore the potential of youth services as we move our communities and profession forward, through whatever comes next, with commitment, care, and creativity.

Library Journal and School Library Journal are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting our annual Public Library Youth Services Leadership Summit in person on Sept. 26 (full-day) and 27 (half-day) at Cuyahoga County Public Library, in Cleveland, OH! We invite you to join current and aspiring youth services leaders from across the country to learn about innovative, effective, and actionable best practices from the library leaders who are implementing them. 

Join School Library Journal for an "Evening of Dialog" on April 4 from 5:30pm to 8pm. Hosted by Shauntee Burns, Director, Youth & Family Services at DC Public Libraries will chat with authors about their books, writing process, and more. Signings will follow, with plenty of opportunities for attendees to meet and greet the authors and grab their latest advanced reading copies/galleys. This is a free event for library professionals with space available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our annual flagship event, the SLJ Summit will be held over three days on December 1-3, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia. This year's theme "A Vision for the Future."

In libraries large and small, a strong approach to youth services fuels a first, fundamental relationship that can be lifelong. A strong strategy prioritizes early development around multiple literacies, connections that support and complement school curricula, and programming and collections that inspire independent reading, thinking, and creation.
