Gr 9 Up—Did you ever wonder how your tone, body language, and words affect what you have to say? This film demonstrates the impact of each of these important components of communication through short vignettes performed by a diverse teen acting troupe with the help of their instructor. Each scene is repeated twice—once with emphasis on the wrong type of communication and a second time with the feature corrected. Teens will find the vignettes relevant and interesting. For example, a humorous zombie skit demonstrates the importance of appropriate body language. Tone is emphasized in a scenario in which a coach is speaking to his team. A break between each 10-minute segment makes the production easily adaptable for classroom use.
