Using technology and mathematic equations, scientists conduct a forensic investigation in an attempt to find the wreckage and to discover what happened to prevent future occurrences. Experts pose theories ranging from a terrorist hijacking to an explosion of lithium batteries. Viewers learn about the technological safeguards in place on the sophisticated Boeing 777, from transponders to satellite relays, none of which saved the flight from its ultimate fate. The sound and video quality are top-notch, and computer animation demonstrates how the plane's technology was supposed to function and the plane's flight plan trajectory.
VERDICT Students may be inspired seeing how math and technology come together to try to solve this timely mystery.
