K-Gr 3—This brief video explains the traits of amphibians, including frogs, toads, and salamanders. The narration is clear and concise and the images are adequate, but the production is not very engaging. Some of the same video and still images are used repeatedly and the lesson, while aimed at young learners, is purely technical. A quiz concludes the film. Additional material on the DVD includes a glossary, slides, and English subtitles. The teacher's guide enhances the value of the production for classroom use. Growing Frogs (Nutmeg Media, 2007) and Eyewitness: Amphibian (Dorling Kindersley, 2008) are better choices for this age group.—April Mazza, Wayland Public Library, MA
