K-Gr 3—This simple introduction to reptiles, Featuring live-action shots of a large variety of reptiles in their natural settings, this simple introduction covers the different kinds of reptiles, their characteristics, and their habitats. The narrator speaks slowly and clearly, providing basic information and defining unfamiliar terms. Interaction is invited three times during the program: viewers are asked to describe the skin of an alligator, to name the type of environment alligators live in, and to decide what turtle-like animal appears on screen. At the end of the three segments, there is a review and a five-question quiz. The presentation is age-appropriate and children will be interested in the wide range of interesting characteristics of snakes, lizards, and turtles.—
