Gr 5–9—Following a disastrous betrayal in Roanoke, Virginia, in Margaret Peterson Haddix's Sabotaged (2010), Jonah and Katherine are sent to the year 1611. Second's manipulations of earlier events has warped the time line and JB tells the time-traveling siblings that if they can't put things back on the proper time track, then all of history will be lost. Dropped onto explorer Henry Hudson's ship, the pair must figure out how Henry's son, John (Jonah in disguise), helps his father discover the Hudson River instead of the fabled Northwest Passage. Things become exceedingly difficult as they lose all contact with JB, and the tracers—shadows that show them what happened in real time—have vanished, leaving them floundering. Each choice Jonah and Katherine make could save or destroy all of history as they knew it. Chris Sorensen perfectly voices Jonah's confusion, Katherine's burgeoning panic, and JB's frustration as time spirals out of control. An author's note provides more information about the real Henry Hudson and what details were changed to match Haddix's overarching storyline. Recommended for collections already circulating the first three audiobooks in the series.—Jessica Miller, New Britain Public Library, CT
